The Google Nexus 7 has been available now for a couple of days in the US and its selling in huge numbers, which has led to stock shortages.
The Telegraph have reported that some major retailers in the US , including GameStop, Sam’s Club and Staples, are reporting shortages of stock. In some cases retailers are reporting that it'll be up to two weeks before more stock arrives.
In the UK we have no information about stock levels , but the device is due to officially begin shipping on the 19th July. However, Curries and PCWorld have already got the device in-stock where you can pickup the 16GB model for £199.
The Google Nexus 7 looks set to become one of the best selling tablets of 2012 and could be the first tablet to truly impact on Apple's iPad sales. However, it's not a direct competitor to Apple's premium iPad, but it has made enough of a splash for rumours to suggest that Apple will respond with the launch of an iPad Mini.
Google's Nexus 7, which is made by Asus, is the first device to run on Android Jelly Bean and comes with a 7 inch HD touch-screen. It's powered by a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and has 1GB of RAM.
